W5: Reimagining Education for the Future

Image
System of education faces several challenges nowadays in our society. The traditional one-size-fits-all model often fails to cater to individual learning styles and strengths, leading to disengaged students and limited academic achievement. Moreover, access to quality education remains unequal , with many communities lacking essential resources and opportunities. For instance, many of the student who comes from unwealthy backgrounds do not have the chance to study and learn in an institute where is able to provide sufficient material such as equipment, facilities, advanced database etc. Despite, there will always be some very talented and unique students are able to overcome this congenial condition and grab the chance, there are always even more students still struggling. Other than that, students who need special care due to their abnormal physical or mental condition are also being as victims of the system of education nowadays. Albert Einstein once said, “ Eve...

W4: Students feel tired when attending few different classes continueosly

Image
The duration of students' classes has always been a topic of discussion, especially for university students. Compared to the past, today's university students not only have to face broader and deeper curricula, particularly in the case of UTAR students, but their daily class hours have also significantly increased compared to 30 to 40 years ago. In the worst-case scenario, classes can seamlessly extend from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with perhaps intermittent one-hour breaks in between. However, this one-hour break is barely enough time for students to queue for elevators, walk to specific locations, queue again to purchase food and drinks, and make payments. The remaining time is simply insufficient for students to rest and recharge. Even if some students choose not to buy food and drinks in order to have some rest within that extreme time frame, there is no suitable place for them to relax. Students can only find solace in the concourse areas of various floors, student union rooms, or...

W3: Car Park Not Enough

Finding parking spaces has always been a headache and a problem  that Malaysians need to face. It not only disrupts the traffic flow but also wastes time. I believe many people have experienced this. The spacious roads become crowded alleys due to double parking, and even drivers with insufficient driving skills have to face the risk of scratches or being scratched. Furthermore, imagine this: whether you have an 8 a.m. class or an 8 a.m. work shift, even though  you arrived half an hour early at 7:30 a.m., you still end up being late because of the difficulty in finding a parking space .  For example, students at UTAR often miss their 8 a.m. classes due to the inability to find parking. Some students, in order to avoid being late, can only gamble by parking their cars in unauthorized spaces, which ultimately results in either receiving a parking  FINE  or having their  TYRES LOCKED . In the end, it boils down to the fact that there are too many cars and too...

W2: Mental holocaust towards UTAR student

Image
As a matter of fact, student suicides at UTAR have become a common occurrence in the news🔪 . The reasons are varied, but it is undeniable that mental health issues among students play a significant role in these tragedies.  However, UTAR has not taken sufficient and effective action regarding the mental well-being of students. According to statistics from the emails sent by UTAR, for every ten or more emails about fundraising for hospitals, there is only one email regarding counseling and accommodation issues. Emails about expanding school sports facilities are almost non-existent. It is perplexing how a UTAR hospital in Perak can benefit students in UTAR Sg Long . From the ratio of emails, we can see that UTAR Sg Long is neglecting the mental health and well-being of students. UTAR is jokingly referred to by students as " Universiti Tak Ada Rehat 🤡 ," meaning "University Without Rest" in English. This is often because there is no study break . Students often fa...

W1: Difficulty and challenges of applying for an identity card (IC)

Image
The current registration system for identity cards (IC) in Malaysia presents numerous challenges for citizens. It heavily relies on hard copy documents, leading to inefficiencies, delays, and the potential for errors and document misplacement. Citizens are required to visit government offices in person to complete paperwork and verify or update their IC details, resulting in unnecessary travel, additional expenses, overcrowded offices, and long waiting times. Moreover, many government staff members lack adequate IT knowledge and training, hindering the adoption of digital solutions and causing inconsistent service. The current customer service hotline is often inaccessible, impeding citizens from seeking assistance and resolution to their queries.😡😡😡 To address these challenges and improve the IC registration process, a future vision for Malaysia involves the implementation of a fully integrated Internet of Things (IoT) system. This digitalized approach would eliminate the relianc...
